YOUR INFORMATION. YOUR CHOICE.

Privacy & consent

This independent outreach project is coordinated by Jadon Irwin. This notice explains what the site collects and why. Updated 30 October 2026.

When you explore

You can read and search church listings without providing contact details. We collect aggregate daily action counts for card entries, story milestones, questions opened, video players selected, contact choices and church-finder activity. These counts do not include a name, email address, visitor identifier, search text, location coordinates or personal reading history. They count actions, not unique people, verified QR scans, completed calls or church attendance.

Your browser may remember the card and distribution batch you arrived through for up to four hours in the current tab. No personal information is stored in that record. An enquiry is linked to that card or batch only if you separately choose this on the form. We honour Do Not Track, Global Privacy Control and the setting below for optional engagement counts. Operational enquiry totals are also counted without including contact details.

When you watch a video

Video artwork is served by this site. The YouTube privacy-enhanced player loads only when you press play; you can read without loading it. After that choice, YouTube receives connection and playback information and may use browser storage under its own policies. Our optional measurement setting does not control YouTube. Opening YouTube, BibleProject or a transcript also takes you to an external service.

See Google’s privacy policy and YouTube’s embedded-video information. Selecting these films does not imply a partnership or endorsement.

When you look for a church

The directory shows only public information deliberately approved for publication. It is separate from private church-contact records. Search terms are sent to this site to find matching public listings; they are not added to our analytics records. Live geolocation and map-provider searches are not connected. If you choose a Google Maps, church website, email or phone link, that service receives the information needed to open your selection under its own practices.

For adults

Conversations, calls and live chat on Nvum are for people aged 18 or over. We ask you to confirm this before you contact us, and we record when you confirmed it. Anyone can read the site, and anyone can make a privacy request. If a team member thinks you may be under 18, they close the conversation and any call ends. If you gave an email address, we send you one message about where young people can find support. We keep a private note that this happened, and nothing more is collected. See where young people can talk.

When you contact us

We ask for a first name or nickname and an email address for our reply or, for an online call, for your call link. You may add a topic and message. For a call we store your requested date, time and Brisbane time zone. We also store whether you want a local connection, your choice of coffee or a church welcome, and whether you prefer messages or a meetup as your first step. Church-finding requests ask for a general area and offer optional travel, tradition, language, accessibility and first-visit preferences. Share only what is useful and comfortable for you; faith-related and other personal information may be sensitive.

The consent checkbox allows Jadon to store this information and respond to your request. Private notes may record the next action needed. When you send a request, the coordinator receives an email alert that a new request is waiting; it carries a reference number only, never your name or message. If you asked for an email reply, we send a short confirmation to your address with your reference. Replies from Jadon come from the Nvum address, and when you answer, your reply comes back to this site rather than to a personal mailbox; your email address is not passed to anyone else. A successful on-screen confirmation means your request has been saved.

Talking with a pastor or welcome volunteer

Your request goes into a queue that the coordinator and the vetted Nvum team can see: your first name, the kind of request, your general area and your message. One person claims it and replies; nobody else does. You write to each other through Nvum, so your email address is never shown to them. You can stop at any time by replying STOP, or raise a concern by replying starting with REPORT; the coordinator reviews every report.

Online calls

If you book a call online, a team member confirms the time and we create a private call room for the two of you with Daily.co, an online calling service. Calls are voice only: cameras and screen sharing are switched off for both of you and cannot be turned on. We email you a link that works only from 15 minutes before the booked time until three hours after it; the team member has their own link. The call runs in your browser and is not recorded. We record when each link was opened and when the room closed, nothing else about the call. Daily processes the audio needed to connect you under its own privacy policy and may process it outside Australia. No phone number is collected for an online call.

Live chat

When live chat is available, opening it tells a team member who is online that someone is waiting; you see their name and role before you decide to talk, and nothing you type is shared before then. Chat is identified only by a random key your browser keeps for that conversation. Messages are stored so the conversation works across devices and so the coordinator can review a report. Team members receive device notifications that name a reference only.

Church introductions

Asking for help, including help with a named church, does not authorise us to share your information. We first agree the named recipient, the exact details and the purpose. That permission is recorded, and a human reviews the proposed introduction. This version does not automatically send email or grant a pastor access to enquiries.

You can withdraw permission before an introduction. Once a church has received agreed information, its handling is subject to its own practices; we can help you ask for deletion. You may also contact a church independently.

Learning from conversations

The coordinator may record a brief conversation debrief, including broad topics, the next step and a follow-up date. An anonymised question or topic report is used to improve explanations and support only where permission for that learning has been recorded. Do not include identifying details or sensitive personal circumstances in a reusable question. Individual case notes remain private.

Access and hosting

The enquiry dashboard, private notes, notification records and design workspace are restricted to the project owner, who signs in with a one-time link sent to their email address. The application and its database are hosted by Render, and email alerts are sent through Postmark. The application does not log message bodies. Hosting and email providers may process connection data, including IP addresses, and information may be processed outside Australia.

Our abuse controls store a salted, rotating digest of a connection address with hourly expiry. Expired abuse records are removed on later requests.

Keeping and deleting records

We keep information while it is needed for your request and follow-up. Our operating target is to review closed enquiries for deletion after 90 days. That is currently a manual review, not an automatic guarantee. Deleting an enquiry removes its referral, note, debrief, notification and assignment records. Aggregate counts contain no contact details and may be retained to compare outreach activity.

Questions or withdrawal

Use the privacy enquiry option to ask about your information, request a correction or deletion, or withdraw permission. Include your reference if you have it. We may need to verify that the request comes from the person concerned. There is no newsletter subscription.

Phone callbacks are not offered at the moment. If we add a telephone service or a live map provider, this notice will be updated to describe them before they are used.
